A New Partnership Forms
Mou Sen is officially back in the game. He shows up with Mai Jiamin to see his old friend, Li Haipeng. It’s been a while. Li Haipeng is pretty surprised to see him.
Mou Sen is straight up about his situation. He went to Nanzhou to make it big but failed. He couldn't even take care of Mai Jiamin. He hands Li Haipeng a stack of cash. Then he makes his pitch. He wants to get back to being a "cook." That’s their code for making drugs. He needs Li Haipeng to get him the raw materials. It doesn't take much convincing. The three of them are now partners in a very illegal business.
A Car Theft Goes Sideways
Zhi An Gets a Lead
While all this is happening, Zhi An is glued to security footage. She’s trying to find the mastermind she briefly saw. Her focus pays off. She spots someone suspicious and decides to follow the trail.
Duo Zai Causes Chaos
Duo Zai heads to a car dealership. He wants his deposit back. He finds out his friend Ma Yong was just there for the same reason. But things went badly for Ma Yong. The dealership guys bullied him and made him work off his debt. Duo Zai sees this and gets furious. He jumps in to help his friend.
In the middle of the fight, Si Yan Hao (the guy with glasses) swipes the keys to the dealership. He and Duo Zai then steal a car and make a run for it.
Worlds Collide
This is where it gets messy. Zhi An has been tracking her suspect from the video. The trail leads her right to the dealership. She arrives just in time to see Duo Zai and Si Yan Hao peeling out in the stolen car. The dealership crew runs out after them. They spot Zhi An and see her police ID. So, they grab her and tie her up. Not a great move.
Luckily, her boss Luo Zhongkui shows up and saves her. At the exact same time, Mou Sen arrives. He was there to pick up a drug shipment. He sees the place is crawling with cops and wisely stays away.
What's in the Car?
Duo Zai and Si Yan Hao are on the road. Si Yan Hao finds some cans in the back. He thinks it's food. He opens one and finds drugs packed inside. They both freak out a little.
They pull over and drive the car to a cliff to figure things out. Si Yan Hao gets greedy. He wants to sell the drugs and make a fortune. Duo Zai is completely against it. He wants nothing to do with them. They argue. In the end, they decide to get rid of the problem together. They push the entire car over the cliff.
The Interrogation and a Brutal Cover-Up
The Cops Close In
The police bring in the dealership owner, Xin Chuanyong, for questioning. They’re experienced cops. They figure he wasn't just chasing a stolen car. He was chasing the drugs inside it. He denies everything, of course. But Zhi An is sharp. She puts together a new theory. She thinks the dealers are using an online game to coordinate their sales.
Li Haipeng hears about the arrest. He panics. He thinks the cops have Xin Chuanyong andthe drugs. He’s worried Xin Chuanyong will talk and give up Mou Sen.
Mou Sen Cleans House
Xin Chuanyong has a diabetic attack in custody. He gets sent to the hospital. This gives Mou Sen an opening. He disguises himself as a doctor and slips into the room. He demands to know where the shipment is. They called it "braised pork."
Xin Chuanyong is terrified. He admits that two young guys stole the car with the goods. Mou Sen can't risk being exposed. He murders Xin Chuanyong right there in the hospital bed. He walks out, passing the on-duty officer in the hallway. By the time the cop finds the body, Mou Sen is long gone.
A Moment of Peace (and a Bad Decision)
A Secret Spot
Later that night, Duo Zai meets up with Zhi An. She’s really down. She tells him she lost something important that her mom left for her. Duo Zai wants to cheer her up. He takes her to his secret hideout. It’s a spot with an amazing view of the stars. They stay there and watch the sunrise. It works. Zhi An starts to feel a lot better.
The Drugs Resurface
The peace doesn't last. Si Yan Hao's girlfriend, Lili, has a family emergency. Her grandmother needs a very expensive surgery. Desperate for money, Si Yan Hao goes back to the cliff. He’s going to try and recover the drugs they pushed over the edge.
He calls Ma Yong for help. He needs someone to help him find a buyer for the drugs.
An Ambush at the Docks
The episode ends with Duo Zai. He's at the docks delivering food for his job. Suddenly, someone attacks him from behind. He’s ambushed, and we're left with him in serious danger.
