Then he drops the real bomb. Ming Yi is not the Queen’s biological daughter. Her real family is the Bo clan.

Ming Yi is completely shocked. She has to know if it's true. Ji Bozai helps her sneak into the palace’s inner court. She goes straight to the Queen to demand answers.

The Queen's Confession

The Queen doesn't hide anything anymore. She lays out the whole story. Years ago, her marriage to the Divine Lord was in name only. They had no love for each other. The Divine Lord only cared for Lady Meng. He publicly promised that if Lady Meng had a son, that boy would be the crown prince.

The Queen was also pregnant at the time. She gave birth first, to a son. But the baby was born with no spiritual veins. This was a disaster. At the exact same time, a woman named Bo Yuzen died during childbirth. She left behind a baby girl with incredible potential. The Queen saw an opportunity. She made a deal with Bo Yulan to secure her own power and protect her son. She would raise the girl as her own. In return, Bo Yulan's imprisoned lover would be set free.

A Father's Story

The story doesn't end there. Ji Bozai runs into a man named She Tianlin. He quickly learns this man is Ming Yi’s real father.

She Tianlin was a fighter from Yaoguang Mountain. He wasn't supposed to fall in love with an outsider, but he did. He fell for Bo Yuzen. The Queen was the one who helped get him freed after he was imprisoned for it. But by the time he got out, Bo Yuzen was already dead. He was heartbroken. He was also powerless to get his infant daughter back from the palace.

So, he did the only thing he could. He dedicated his life to climbing the ranks. He eventually became a master in the Yaoguang Mountain fighters' group. He used that high-ranking position to become Ming Yi’s teacher. It was his way of staying close to her. He watched her grow up, year after year, keeping her safe from a distance. Ji Bozai feels for Ming Yi, who has lived her whole life in this lie. He asks She Tianlin if he ever planned on telling her the truth himself.
