Episode Summary
Shen Haoming attempts a clumsy campaign to win back Xu Yan, starting with a parent-teacher conference and an awkward house visit where her friends roast him. He later crashes her business meeting to give her crucial advice about investors, creating tension with his rival, Jiang Liang. Meanwhile, Yu Yiming and Qiao Lin finally become a couple after a very straightforward confession.

Shen Haoming's Pathetic Comeback Tour
So, Xu Yan's studio is finally getting some good news. Things are moving forward. Then she gets a call from her son's teacher, Shen Haochen. There's a parent-teacher conference next week. Xu Yan immediately agrees to go.
At the same time, Shen Haoming is getting relationship advice from Yu Yiming. They are literally discussing the philosophy of love. It’s as ridiculous as it sounds. Then Shen Haoming gets a call from Xu Yan. She asks him to go to the conference instead. He was about to text her back saying he could make it. But Yu Yiming stops him. He tells Shen Haoming this is a golden opportunity. He should use it as an excuse to show up at her house. More face time is always a good thing, right?
The House Visit
Shen Haoming takes the advice. He rushes over to Xu Yan's place. I'll give him this. His attitude is way better than before. He even speaks to her gently. He agrees to go to the conference. Then he pulls a classic move. He pretends his phone has no signal and starts looking for her WiFi password. You and I both know what he's really doing. He's snooping around her apartment, looking for any sign of another man.
Xu Yan totally sees through his little act. But she doesn't call him on it. It’s kind of funny watching him squirm. The two of them just exist in this awkward silence for a while. He clearly wants to stay for dinner. She makes it very clear he should leave.
Ambushed by Friends
Just as he's about to get kicked out, the doorbell rings. It's Qiao Lin. Shen Haoming acts like he's just been saved. He calls her "sis" and immediately starts playing the man of the house. He gets her a drink and tries to settle in. His plan is to get friendly with Xu Yan's inner circle. He wants to get some intel on her.
It backfires. Spectacularly. Her friends are not having it. They basically tell him off, both directly and indirectly. They say men are messed up. When a woman likes them, they push her away. Now that she's moved on, he's shamelessly sticking around.
Shen Haoming is completely embarrassed. Xu Yan has to step in to save him some face. Later, he goes drinking with Yu Yiming to complain. Yu Yiming just tells him to deal with it. The friends were right, and he knows it. We also learn Shen Haoming's assistant tried to guilt Xu Yan with old photos. It seems Shen Haoming tried to find her many times after she left. But the old Xu Yan is gone. She doesn't forgive him.
Business, Betrayal, and a Rival
Shen Haoming isn't just fighting for Xu Yan personally. He's also inserting himself into her business. He calls Jiang Liang, who is in the middle of moving. Jiang Liang basically taunts him. He says Shen Haoming may have power and resources, but Xu Yan doesn't belong to him anymore. Shen Haoming snaps back that they aren't divorced yet. He warns Jiang Liang not to try and steal his wife.
A Warning for Xu Yan
Shen Haoming finds out from Qiao Lin that Xu Yan is working late with Jiang Liang. He gets jealous but decides to show up at the office the next day anyway. He sits in on their meeting. He can't help but notice how much Xu Yan has grown professionally. But he has zero respect for Jiang Liang. He bluntly says Jiang Liang will never sign a permanent deal with her.
Then he gives Xu Yan some surprisingly solid advice. He warns her about getting trapped by investors. They will force her to expand too quickly. The product quality will suffer. And the brand's reputation will be ruined. Xu Yan knows he's right. She needs to keep control in her own hands, not give it to capitalists. Shen Haoming tells her to focus on creating a unique, core product that can't be copied. Even Jiang Liang seems impressed. The tension gets thick, so Xu Yan finds an excuse to slip out.
Steve's Shady Plan
On top of all this, we have Steve. He's working with someone to find proof that Shen Haoming and Xu Yan's marriage is over. If they can't find proof for a divorce, their backup plan is to go after her company, Yan Yi Fang, directly.
Finally. A Couple We Can Root For
Let's end on a high note. Yu Yiming buys Qiao Lin a bunch of practical, everyday items. She is secretly touched by the gesture. He asks her if she has decided whether she wants to be with him. She turns it around and tells him he needs to think about it carefully.
So he does. He gives her a super direct, awkward confession. It's so blunt that Qiao Lin thinks it sounds like a marriage proposal. And with that, they are finally, officially together.
