A Busy Day at the Arena

Drones and Scalpers

First, Qiu Tian’s tech team spots a private drone flying where it shouldn't be. The Cheetah unit gets the call. They handle it easily and force the drone to land. Chen Hansheng and Lei Peng go find the operators. The guys think they're just regular security guards. They even try to fight them. They get a huge shock when they're arrested and realize they just tried to fight armed police. Idiots.

At the same time, Ling Zhengrong spots ticket scalpers cheating people. He sees a young student get scammed out of her savings for a fake ticket. Ling is not having it. He goes undercover for a minute, pretending to be a security guard. He gets friendly with the scalpers and then busts the whole crew. He felt bad for the student, so he bought her a new ticket himself. It was a front-row seat that cost him over a thousand yuan.

The Real Threat Emerges

The small stuff was just a warm-up. A truly dangerous person was already inside the arena.

The Man with the Thermoses

A suspicious guy gets through security. He's wearing a hat and a mask and carrying three thermoses. To prove they're safe, he takes a drink from each one in front of the guards. They let him pass. As soon as he's clear, he goes to the bathroom and makes himself throw up all the water.

He finds his seat and sets the thermoses to heat up to 100 degrees. Then he hides them under his chair. A girl sitting behind him sees everything. She thinks he just forgot his stuff. She grabs the thermoses and runs after him to give them back. The guy just keeps walking and doesn't even look at her.

It's a Bomb!

Luckily, the girl runs right into Qiu Tian. He immediately senses something is wrong with the thermoses. He calls for a field radar to scan them. The team analyzes the contents. They confirm the worst. The thermoses are filled with liquid bombs.

The Takedown and the Fallout

With a bomber on the loose, the team kicks into high gear. They have to find this guy before he disappears or hurts someone else.

Cornering the Suspect

The team quickly gets an ID on their suspect. Chen Hansheng radios in. He says he saw a guy matching the description. Ling Zhengrong immediately organizes the team and heads toward Chen's position. All the exits are sealed. The suspect knows he's trapped. He ducks into a bathroom to change clothes as a disguise.

He walks out of the bathroom and comes face-to-face with Chen Hansheng. Chen can tell the guy is acting strangely. The suspect panics. He turns and runs. He grabs a random girl and takes her hostage. Chen Hansheng doesn't hesitate. He fires his taser gun. It hits both the suspect and the hostage. They both go down, unconscious. The suspect is finally in custody.

The Bomber's Story

We learn the suspect's name is Li Huaqing. His thirteen-year-old daughter died two years ago from an illness. He is convinced her death was caused by a drug from Ruihe Biological Technology. He tried to sue and file complaints. But his case was always dismissed because he didn't have enough evidence. He found out Ruihe was sponsoring the basketball game. So he built the bombs to stage an attack. He hoped it would finally get the attention of the authorities.

You Can't Please Everyone

The case gets handed over to the police. The girl who was tased wakes up in the hospital. She and her friend track down Chen Hansheng. She claims she wants to thank him for saving her life. But that's not what she does. She confronts him and questions his methods. She actually demands an apology for tasing her.

Chen Hansheng stands his ground. He tells her he did nothing wrong. He explains the taser isn't a lethal weapon and won't cause her any permanent harm. Then he tells her straight up. If he hadn't acted decisively, she wouldn't be alive to complain to him right now. She gets furious. Her friend is mortified and wishes she never came along.

A Past Revealed

The hostage situation causes some trouble for Chen Hansheng back at base. But it also leads to a major revelation.

Ling Defends His Soldier

The Chief of Staff wants to formally punish Chen Hansheng for his actions. Ling Zhengrong steps in to defend him. He tells the Chief that if Chen is punished, then the Chief should be punished too. He brings up their unit's tradition of legacy. The Chief trained Ling, and Ling trained Chen. They are all connected. The Chief is left speechless.

The Son of a Hero

Later, the Chief pulls Ling aside. He tells him the truth about Chen Hansheng's past. Chen is the son of Chen Weiguo, their fallen comrade. Ling is stunned. After Chen Weiguo died, Ling tried to help his wife and son. But the mother refused all contact and eventually moved away. Chen Hansheng's name used to be Chen Zai.

Ling finally understands why Chen was so determined to join the Cheetah unit. He's happy that his friend's son is fighting by his side. But he also feels incredibly guilty for not realizing who he was sooner.

An Awkward Thank You

The episode wraps up with a visit from Zhou Tianna. She's the head of Ruihe, the company the bomber was targeting. She brings expensive gifts like computers to thank the unit. They have to refuse them because of regulations.

During her tour, she starts taking pictures, which is also against the rules. She deletes them when she's told to stop. But Qiu Tian doesn't take any chances. He comes over and uses his tech skills to permanently wipe the photos from her device. You can't be too careful.
