Episode Summary
A wedding celebration is ruined when a paternity test is revealed, causing a major rift between the Shen and Xu families. Meanwhile, the Feng family faces its own crisis. Feng Meiqi quits her job after a fight with her father, Feng Zhi, who then storms out and is later found dead at his factory. Shen Mingzhu is left to manage the funeral and discovers Feng Zhi has left behind a massive amount of debt.

A Wedding Goes Sideways
The Piano Saves the Day
The episode kicks off at Xu Zhidong's wedding. He asks Shen Mingzhu to come on stage as a marriage witness. This was a pretty big gesture. But of course, her adoptive mom, Yue Xiue, was not having it. She immediately tried to shut it down.
Luckily, Li Jingzhe was there to play peacemaker. He suggested Mingzhu play the piano for everyone instead. It was a smart move. Mingzhu got on stage, played beautifully, and totally won over the crowd. Later, she thanked Li Jingzhe. He really saved her from a super awkward family moment.
A Paternity Test Ruins the Party
Things felt normal for a minute. Then the wedding reception started. Xu Dacheng, the groom's father, started making toasts. He got a little drunk. He couldn't stop bragging about his three wonderful children. This clearly got under the skin of Shen Shengli and Yue Xiue. They were worried they were losing Mingzhu for good.
So, what does a drunk Xu Dacheng do? He pulls out the paternity test results. He announces to everyone that Mingzhu and Zhidong are twins. Yue Xiue absolutely lost it. She felt completely betrayed. She screamed at Xu Dacheng and declared that their families were done. She stormed out of the wedding without even finishing her food. She also made her husband and Mingzhu leave with her. So much for a happy occasion.

Meiqi Quits in Style
Back at home, Yue Xiue was still fuming. She couldn't believe the Xu family pulled that stunt. Mingzhu tried to calm her down, but it was no use.
The drama then shifts to the Feng family. He Lihua gets a debt collection notice from the bank. She confronts her husband, Feng Zhi, about his business. He dodges the question. He just tells her they need to start saving money.
Meanwhile, their daughter, Feng Meiqi, was having her own crisis. It was the last day of her performance review at the hotel. She was about to lose her job. Her dad, Feng Zhi, gave her 100,000 yuan. He told her to use it to meet her sales quota. She took the money, hit her target, and then promptly quit her job. She then went out drinking with friends, lying to her parents that she was on a business trip.
The Fight and the Storm Out
Shen Mingzhu saw Meiqi's posts on social media and figured out she quit. She casually mentioned it to He Lihua and Feng Zhi. They were shocked. They also realized Meiqi had blocked them.
Feng Zhi called Meiqi and demanded she come home. He laid into her without even listening to her side. He Lihua tried to defend her daughter, which only made Feng Zhi angrier. He ended up storming out of the house.
After he left, Mingzhu tried to talk some sense into Meiqi. Meiqi wasn't interested. She just yelled at Mingzhu. Then she brought up the family heirloom bracelet He Lihua had given to Mingzhu. It was a low blow. Fed up, Mingzhu just took the bracelet off and gave it to her.
A Shocking Discovery
Feng Zhi's Death
A huge storm started. He Lihua couldn't get ahold of Feng Zhi on the phone. She was getting frantic. She asked Mingzhu to go with her to his factory to check on him. Meiqi, surprisingly, volunteered to go with Mingzhu instead.
The two of them went out into the pouring rain. They got to the factory and went to his office. They found Feng Zhi lying on the floor. He was already dead.
Picking Up the Pieces
Mingzhu Takes Charge
The news destroyed He Lihua. Feng Meiqi just broke down crying. With everyone else falling apart, Shen Mingzhu stepped up. She started handling all of the funeral arrangements. Her brother, Shen Minghui, came to the funeral home to help.
Minghui felt terrible seeing his sister carry this whole burden. He went home and complained to his parents about it. Worried about Mingzhu, Yue Xiue and Shen Shengli went and asked their friend Ni Debao to help with the funeral.
The Debts Pile Up
At the funeral, things got even worse. A group of creditors showed up demanding money. This was the first Mingzhu heard of how much debt Feng Zhi was really in. She promised them she would settle everything after the burial, which made them back off for now.
After the funeral, Mingzhu kept Feng Zhi's phone to keep track of his creditors. Then she got a call from the bank. She learned that Feng Zhi had mortgaged their house. The funeral company also came asking for money. Their bill was way higher than what they originally agreed on. Mingzhu demanded an itemized list before paying.
The episode ends with Mingzhu facing a mountain of unexpected debt. She's the only one holding her adoptive aunt's family together.
