Episode Summary
This episode is all about the team falling apart. Shen Wu quits to start his own business, which sends Yu Yu into a spiral. After a misguided fistfight and a surprisingly heartfelt public interview, Shen Wu leaves on complicated terms. His first business move is snatching a client from Yu Yu, leaving Yu Yu to question everything.

The Big Breakup
Shen Wu Drops a Bomb
The episode kicks off with Shen Wu. He shows his latest design to his mentor, Yu Yu. Yu Yu gives him some honest, direct feedback. He points out the good and the bad. Shen Wu then decides to drop some major news. You think he's about to announce he's getting married. I thought so, too.
Nope. He's quitting. He wants to start his own studio.
Yu Yu does not take this well. He gets emotional and pretty angry. He tells Shen Wu that he doesn't even have a real design philosophy yet. He thinks this is a huge mistake. The two of them end up in a shouting match. It’s not a good scene.
Yu Yu Is Not Handling It
Yu Yu is feeling abandoned. He goes to see his friend, Gu Yejia. He complains that his colleague Lin Sa is planning to leave for another company. Now his own assistant, Shen Wu, is also bailing. He feels like his whole team is falling apart.
He won't admit he's just sad about the goodbyes. Instead, he insists it’s about the work. He says he can't function without them. To blow off steam, he buys a whole chicken. Then he practices his surgical skills on it. Yes, you read that right. It's his weird coping mechanism.
A Punch and a Public Statement
A Fight for Honor
Shen Wu is on edge. He's got a short fuse and even gets into an argument with his girlfriend. Later, he sees someone named Ouyang trashing Yu Yu's designs online. He calls the work garbage. Shen Wu can't stand for it. He tracks Ouyang down and starts a fight.
He loses the fight, though. Badly. Yu Yu has to go to the police station to bail him out.
On the way out, Yu Yu finds out Shen Wu was fighting to defend his honor. He's a little touched. He also starts to think about what Shen Wu said during their argument. Maybe he's right. Yu Yu realizes he's been playing it safe for years. He hasn't pushed himself. He starts to understand why Shen Wu wants to leave.
The Big Interview
Yu Yu gets invited for a solo interview with a reporter. This is a big deal for him, so he takes it seriously. He asks Gu Yejia to help him pick out an outfit. But he's so weird about it. He won't let Gu Yejia in the house. He sets up a table outside for the consultation. Gu Yejia thinks it's ridiculous but helps him anyway. His best advice? Keep your mouth shut as much as possible.
Yu Yu doesn't listen. During the interview, he talks about his whole team. He thanks them for everything. Then, he does something unexpected. He shows an old video of Shen Wu on his first day. He publicly praises him and wishes him well with his new studio.
Shen Wu sees the interview. He gets emotional. He finally understands that Yu Yu was always looking out for him, even when he was being tough.
The Fallout
Awkward Goodbyes
On Shen Wu's last day, Yu Yu acts cold and doesn't say much. You can tell he's just hiding how sad he is.
Lin Sa isn't feeling so sure about her own departure. She gets a cold and goes to see Gu Yejia. She tells him their little work trio has been a perfect team for years. She feels bad about breaking it up. She decides to postpone leaving until she can wrap up her projects.
The First Betrayal
Shen Wu is back. He tries to make nice with Yu Yu. He then watches as Yu Yu's bad attitude drives away a potential client. Yu Yu is still in a funk. He blames his mood on Lin Sa leaving.
Later, we learn Wang Xiaoxiao has been promoted to assistant. Yu Yu also gets the final confirmation that Lin Sa is officially leaving. He tries to act like it doesn't bother him, but it clearly does.
Then comes the real sting. Shen Wu opens his new studio. His very first client is the exact same customer that Yu Yu just scared off. Yu Yu hears the news, and it hurts. He goes to Gu Yejia for advice, but his friend just tells him to get over it. After thinking it over, Yu Yu decides he needs answers. He goes to ask Lin Sa where she's going.
