Episode Summary
In this episode, Lin Sa returns with a promotion, putting her in a power position over Yu Yu. After Yu Yu saves Xia Xiaoman from her aggressive ex, Xia Xiaoman realizes she loves him and drunkenly confesses, but he dismisses her. Yu Yu wins a major design award and takes Gu Yejia to the ceremony, but a family health scare makes him reflect on his life.

The World's Worst Pep Talk
So, Yu Yu is wandering around like a lost puppy without Lin Sa. He's worried about her. He finally tracks her down to try and convince her to stay. His approach is just... classic Yu Yu. It's a mess.
He basically tells her that her designs are only good because of him. He says that without him, she doesn't have much value. It's a real jerk move. Lin Sa gets angry, obviously. But then he immediately backpedals. He admits that he can't survive without her either. He says he needs her to handle all the difficult clients he can't deal with. It's the first time he's really praised her. She's a little thrown by it. She just tells him she'll think about it and leaves.
Lin Sa's Big Return
Back at the office, Yu Yu is completely miserable. He's just waiting for her to call. And then, she's back. Lin Sa walks right back into the company. But she doesn't just come back. She forces the company to give her a promotion. She even makes Yu Yu call her "Director Lin."
She gives her old job to Wang Xiaoxiao. Yu Yu complains, of course. He says he's stuck training two "weak soldiers" now. Lin Sa just tells him that everyone is improving. She warns him to keep up or he'll be left behind.

A Stalker and a Savior
Xia Xiaoman hears about Lin Sa's promotion. She's inspired. She wants to be a powerful career woman just like her. Her friend tells her to stop daydreaming and just find a boyfriend. Right on cue, her awful ex, Wang Dawei, calls her.
He asks her to meet. The whole vibe is creepy. She feels like someone is following her. And she's right. Wang Dawei stalks her after she rejects him. He gets aggressive and tries to force her to get back together with him. She fights him off. Just then, Yu Yu shows up and saves her. But the night isn't over. Wang Dawei calls the police on Yu Yu. Lin Sa has to go to the station to bail him out.
A Drunken Confession
This whole thing makes Xia Xiaoman see Yu Yu differently. She starts thinking about all the times he's helped her. He's a proud guy. But he climbed over a wall for her when she couldn't pay rent. He swallowed his pride to ask friends for help when she was in trouble. She realizes she's falling for him.
She tells her friend she's in love with Yu Yu. They get drunk together. She says she can never confess. She knows he would just make fun of her relentlessly.
Later that night, she shows up at his apartment, completely drunk. Yu Yu is trying to eat dinner. He's annoyed. He tells her to stay away from him while clutching his dog, Dao Ge. That's when she blurts it out. She tells him she really likes him. Yu Yu is busy playing with his dog. He barely seems to hear her. Xia Xiaoman feels sick and rushes home to throw up.
The next morning, she tries to piece together what he said. All she remembers is him saying something like, "If you like me, then you like me." Her friend says it means he doesn't care at all. Xia Xiaoman is hurt, but she knows it's probably true.

The Award and The Date
The family drama continues. Zhong Liangchuan asks Yu Yu for a favor with his wife. Yu Yu just tells him to get a divorce. His own sister is still nagging him about getting married.
Then Lin Sa shows up with huge news. Yu Yu won a major design award. She has the invitation to the ceremony. In front of his coworkers, Yu Yu acts like it's no big deal. But then he immediately runs to Gu Yejia to show off the invitation. He wants her to go with him. Her father says Yu Yu has to beg her. Yu Yu gets mad and storms out. But he comes right back. He seriously and formally asks her to be his date.
At the ceremony, they look great together. Everyone thinks they're the perfect couple. When the host calls Yu Yu's name, he stands up. He gives Gu Yejia a hug, goes on stage to get his award, and then hugs her again when he gets back.
A Reality Check
He's so smug about winning. He parades the "Best Designer" trophy around the office. When he gets home, he puts the awards show on TV for his family. His mom gets so excited that she faints. They have to rush her to the hospital.
At the hospital, Yu Yu has a moment of clarity. He realizes how much his mom worries about him being single. He feels guilty for not noticing how much she cares. Later, he thanks Gu Yejia for coming with him. She points out something sharp. She says the more he cares about someone, the more he pushes them away. He asks her to "like" his post about the award. She sees right through it. She tells him it's obvious he doesn't have many friends. He gets uncomfortable because she's right.
