Episode Summary
Xia Xiaoman gets a promotion, fails to confess to Yu Yu, and leaves town feeling relieved. Spurred by Xia Xiaoman's parting words, Gu Yejia asks Yu Yu out on a date, but he panics and ditches her. He later explains his fear of failure, but Gu Yejia talks some sense into him. He finally lets her into his world, and his room, and they officially become a couple.

The Confession That Never Happened
So, things are looking up for Xia Xiaoman. She gets a big opportunity at work. It's a chance to go study in another city. If she does well, she could even stay there as a store manager. Her friends are all excited for her.
Yu Yu, of course, has to be Yu Yu. Her friends bring out some garlic to celebrate. He immediately complains that the smell will bother his dog, Dao Ge. He just can't help himself. Xia Xiaoman is a little thrown off, but she's still determined. She decides she has to confess her feelings to him before she leaves. Her friends tell her it's a terrible idea. She doesn't listen.
She gets ready to tell him everything. And just as she's about to speak, Gu Yejia shows up. The timing is perfect, in the worst possible way.
The Drive Away
Xia Xiaoman sees how Yu Yu acts around Gu Yejia. It's completely different from how he is with her. That's the final straw. She just explodes with frustration and runs back inside her house.
She confronts Gu Yejia directly. She tells her that Yu Yu likes her. Then she asks Gu Yejia if she likes him back. Gu Yejia finally seems to understand why Xia Xiaoman is leaving. But she doesn't answer the question. She just leaves in a hurry.
After that, Xia Xiaoman says her goodbyes to Yu Yu and gets ready to go. He actually chases after the car. He bought a toy for her dog, Dao Ge. As she sits in the car watching him stand there, she thinks about their time together. And honestly, she just feels a sense of relief. She's finally free.
Gu Yejia Makes Her Move
The World's Most Awkward Date
Gu Yejia can't stop thinking about what Xia Xiaoman said. Maybe she's right. Maybe she really does like Yu Yu. So, she decides to do something about it. She asks Yu Yu out to a restaurant.
This isn't just any restaurant, though. It's running a special promotion for couples. If a couple kisses, they get a free meal set. Gu Yejia is really putting it all on the line here.
They're at the restaurant. Yu Yu says he's going to the restroom. And then he just disappears. He never comes back. Gu Yejia waits and waits until the restaurant is about to close. She's left there all alone. It's a brutal move from him.
The Big Explanation
The next day, Yu Yu goes to find Gu Yejia at her office. He learns she took the day off. He starts to wonder if he did something wrong. You think?
He finally gets ahold of her and they meet up. He tries to explain himself. He says he left because he got scared. He's terrified that if they start a relationship and it goes wrong, he won't be able to handle the failure.
Gu Yejia tells him that's ridiculous. She says that if two people are really together, they face problems together. It's not something one person has to handle alone. She really calls him out on his nonsense.
They're Finally Official
The Big Reveal in the Bedroom
Her words must have gotten through to him. Yu Yu finally invites Gu Yejia into his room. This is a huge step for him.
She looks around and sees his room is full of design touches and green plants. Then she spots something else. In a picture frame, he's added a photo of her. She can't stop smiling.
Yu Yu admits that ever since he met her, he's started to open up. He has been scared and has been avoiding things. But now, he feels like he might have the courage to take on some responsibility. He asks her to design their future house with him. And just like that, Yu Yu and Gu Yejia are finally together.
