Episode Summary
In this episode, Yu Yu's stubbornness causes friction at work and complicates his health. A series of misunderstandings about money and coupons leads to a petty feud with his neighbor, Xia Xiaoman. After a solo barbecue binge lands him in the hospital, he alienates his friends and deeply offends Gu Yejia, forcing him to make a very public apology.

An Artist's Principles
The episode kicks off with Yu Yu still fuming. He thinks Ouyang’s design work is a joke. He says it's only good for tricking young girls. He gets into it with Lin Sa, who just thinks Yu Yu is a stubborn blockhead. You can't change his mind.
Later, Yu Yu heads to a lumber market. This scene was just weird. He runs into a competitor and asks what he's doing. The guy says he’s making decorations for a museum. Yu Yu then says, with a completely straight face, that he’s making tables. He wants the wood to feel the warmth of human life. I’m not even kidding. That’s what he said.
A Diet Doomed to Fail
Meanwhile, his doctor, Gu Yejia, is worried. She tells Zhong Liangchuan to make sure Yu Yu actually follows her medical advice. She knows Yu Yu won't listen to her. Zhong Liangchuan just sighs. He knows his brother all too well.
Back at the office, Yu Yu gives his team a lecture on financial planning. He tells them they need to be smart with money or they'll end up broke. Then he immediately suggests they all go out for barbecue. But when they get to the restaurant, Shen Wu points out a "couples' special." The whole vibe gets awkward. The team makes excuses and leaves. Yu Yu is left alone, thinking his friends are just plain boring.
The Neighbors Get Louder
The Coupon Misunderstanding
So, who ends up at that barbecue joint? Shen Wu and Xia Xiaoman. He invites her to eat, sees the couples' discount, and goes for it. He even uses extra coupons to save more money. Xia Xiaoman is just sitting there, watching this happen. She's starting to think this guy is a serious cheapskate.
Later, Yu Yu is at the supermarket. He remembers his doctor's orders. He begrudgingly swaps his whole milk for skim milk. As he’s leaving, he overhears Xia Xiaoman on the phone. She's complaining to her friend about Shen Wu's boss. She assumes the boss must be some cheap, twisted person. Why else would he force his assistant to obsess over coupons? Of course, she's talking about Yu Yu. And he hears every single word.
Petty Revenge
Yu Yu does not take this well. He goes home and cranks the volume on his TV. He's clearly trying to annoy her. Xia Xiaoman realizes he's getting back at her. She thinks he’s incredibly petty.
The next day, Yu Yu confronts Shen Wu. He asks him why he's so obsessed with using coupons. Shen Wu just says he likes to spend money on things that matter. He’s just being practical. Then, Shen Wu makes a huge mistake. He starts showing Yu Yu a video of Ouyang. Lin Sa sees this and frantically signals for him to shut it off.
A Grand Gesture
The Downward Spiral
Yu Yu tries to get his team to go for barbecue again. They all bail on him. So, he goes by himself. He orders a mountain of meat, puts on his headphones, and just tunes the world out. Gu Yejia happens to walk by and sees him mid-binge.
The consequences come quickly. The next morning, Yu Yu is exercising and collapses. He ate way too much. This lands him right back in the hospital with Gu Yejia. He jokes that ever since he met her, he’s become a regular at the hospital.
Things get even more awkward at home. Shen Wu comes over to visit Yu Yu. He runs into Gu Yejia and Xia Xiaoman. Xia Xiaoman invites Shen Wu to eat with them. He immediately ditches Yu Yu and runs next door. Yu Yu is left alone, listening to them all laughing. He gets annoyed and blasts his music to drown them out.
The Megaphone Apology
Yu Yu finally crashes their little dinner party. But he says something that accidentally hits a nerve with Gu Yejia. She gets really upset. Yu Yu is confused. He doesn't know what he did, but he knows he has to fix it.
So he does what any normal person would do. He gets a megaphone. He stands in the street and publicly, loudly apologizes to Gu Yejia. It’s a huge, embarrassing, and honestly, pretty dramatic scene.
