Episode Summary
In this episode, Yu Yu's awkward attempts to get closer to Gu Yejia result in him buying her a TV. His mom tries to set them up, which backfires. Meanwhile, Yu Yu's stubbornness in his personal and professional life continues to cause problems for everyone around him.

The World's Most Awkward Apology
So, we pick up with Yu Yu running around with a megaphone. He's desperately looking for Gu Yejia. He needs to tell her something very important. His loud, public announcement is that when he called her "old," he was talking about her car. Not her.
Gu Yejia finally hears him when his megaphone battery dies. He apologizes again, very uncomfortably. He says he was talking about the car. He also says she looks "a little young," which is not the compliment he thinks it is. She just stares at him. He quickly corrects himself and says she looks very young. Gu Yejia sees how genuinely terrible he feels. She can't help but laugh at the whole mess.
Later, his friend Li Huaiqing spots him outside the shop talking to a girl. This is a rare sight. Li Huaiqing gets super curious. He brings out two cups of coffee, clearly trying to listen in on their conversation. Yu Yu is not having it and sends him away.
He Bought Her a TV
Yu Yu takes Gu Yejia inside Li Huaiqing's disc shop for a tour. She was planning to watch a movie on her laptop. Yu Yu tells her that's a total waste. He says a laptop screen is way too small for a proper movie experience. Li Huaiqing was about to jump in and help Yu Yu smooth things over, but Gu Yejia didn't seem offended, so he stayed quiet.
Then Yu Yu does something pretty wild. He buys a brand-new television specifically for watching movies. And he has it delivered directly to Gu Yejia's home. It’s a huge gesture, done in his own weird, particular way.
But She Lied About The Movie
Yu Yu later visits Gu Yejia's office. He actually seems impressed and doesn't criticize anything for once. As he's leaving, he asks her if she liked the movie he sent her. She says it was good, but she's just being polite.
The truth comes out when she goes to Li Huaiqing's shop to buy some discs. Yu Yu happens to be there. He sees her picking out romance movies. He immediately realizes she lied about liking his recommendation. He calls her out for being two-faced, which startles her. He just thinks she's overreacting.
Mom Plays Matchmaker
Yu Yu's mom goes to the hospital, supposedly to visit Zhong Liangchuan. Her real mission is to check out Gu Yejia. She even fakes being sick to get an appointment with her. She looks at Gu Yejia with total "future daughter-in-law" eyes.
We learn Zhong Liangchuan borrowed money from Yu Yu. Yu Yu then finds out Zhong Liangchuan was the one who introduced his mom to Gu Yejia. He's not happy about it. He calls Gu Yejia to ask if she met his mother. He's so worked up that he books another doctor's appointment just to talk to her. Gu Yejia tells him he's wasting public resources. He just wanted to return her fan, but then she realizes she forgot to bring it with her. The whole thing is a disaster.
Yu Yu's Life Philosophy
While with Gu Yejia, Yu Yu notices her messy bag. He immediately starts pitching his own bag designs to her, which are all about perfect organization. His business partner, Lin Sa, and his assistant, Shen Wu, are getting frustrated with him. Lin Sa tells him he'll never find a wife if he stays this rigid. He refuses to change his design ideas.
He also spends a lot of money on a toy. Lin Sa points out that his assistant Shen Wu is so broke he's using coupons every day. Yu Yu doesn't seem to care. He also buys a "game of life" board and plays it alone. He decides marriage is a mess and there's no way to guarantee a perfect relationship.
The Green Hat Incident
Xia Xiaoman and Gu Yejia are out shopping. They spot Yu Yu buying a hat. It’s a green hat. Now, you should know, in Chinese culture, a man wearing a green hat means his wife or girlfriend is cheating on him. It's a huge cultural symbol. Shen Wu gets a text about it and is just baffled by Yu Yu's choice. It's a strange and very specific joke Yu Yu is making, probably about his own single status.
A Messy Love Triangle
Things are also happening with the side characters. Shen Wu is annoyed because Lin Sa told Wang Xiaoxiao that he went on a date with another girl. He arranges a meeting with both Wang Xiaoxiao and Xia Xiaoman. It starts off incredibly tense. But somehow, the two women go from being rivals to being friendly. Shen Wu is completely confused. Xia Xiaoman later tells Gu Yejia that she thinks Shen Wu and Wang Xiaoxiao are a perfect match. She also says Gu Yejia is starting to act a little like Yu Yu.
