Episode Summary
In this episode, Yu Yu's attempt to help Xia Xiaoman with money backfires due to his poor communication. His therapist, Gu Yejia, mediates the situation, revealing Yu Yu's genuinely good intentions. This leads to a truce between him and Xia Xiaoman, culminating in an awkward but friendly trip to an amusement park with Gu Yejia.

The Infamous Green Hat
The episode kicks off with a text from Shen Wu to Xia Xiaoman. He sends her a sneaky picture of Yu Yu. Why? Because Yu Yu is proudly wearing a green hat. If you know, you know. Shen Wu tries to give Yu Yu a subtle hint about it. Yu Yu just doesn't get it. He thinks it's high fashion and that Shen Wu has no taste.
Lin Sa also sees the hat. She thinks it's ridiculous. Nobody wants to wear that color on their head. But then she looks at Yu Yu's new design plans. The guy has actually started thinking about the client. He changed the materials. He even made the design more practical. Shen Wu is shocked, too. They both realize Yu Yu is actually changing. So, they decide to just play along. They start praising his "stylish" green hat to keep him in a good mood.
A Terrible Attempt at Kindness
Later, Yu Yu is at a bar. He watches some guy make a cheesy proposal. It makes him wonder why anyone bothers with love at all. Then he steps outside. He sees Xia Xiaoman working as a liquor promoter. She's dealing with some sleazy guys saying gross things to her. He remembers she was worried about rent. This gets him thinking.
He goes to see his therapist, Gu Yejia. It turns out she and Lin Sa have met before. During his session, Yu Yu has a breakthrough. He realizes money can actually be used to connect with people in a good way. So he goes home, determined to help Xia Xiaoman.
Here's where it goes completely wrong. He walks up to her with a stack of cash. She's happy for about two seconds. Then he opens his mouth. He tells her she'll end up old and unwanted if she doesn't find a boyfriend. Xia Xiaoman is furious. She throws the money right back at him.
Gu Yejia, Professional Mess-Cleaner
Yu Yu knows he messed up. He immediately books another appointment with Gu Yejia. He needs her help to fix this. Gu Yejia talks to Xia Xiaoman. She explains what really happened.
We also learn something new. Yu Yu secretly called Xia Xiaoman's uncle. He told the uncle to handle his own problems. He shouldn't let his niece carry his burdens. After hearing all this, Xia Xiaoman tells Gu Yejia that Yu Yu is a good person. He just has a terrible way of doing things. Gu Yejia agrees. She thinks he's kind but a total coward when it comes to facing things head-on.
The next morning, Xia Xiaoman sees Yu Yu. He tries to duck away, embarrassed. She calls out to him. She thanks him for everything. Yu Yu gets all awkward. He isn't used to people being nice to him, especially after he's been a jerk. He tells Gu Yejia about the apology. He admits it made him feel happy and relaxed. Then he ruins the moment by insulting her. He says she's just pretending to have a "girlish heart." She promptly tells him to get out.
An Amusement Park Date?
Things are a little less tense between Yu Yu and Xia Xiaoman now. They ride the elevator together. She remembers something Gu Yejia said and decides to tease him a bit. He's just completely confused by her behavior. At work, Lin Sa notices the change. She comments that Yu Yu is finally starting to act like a real human with feelings.
Yu Yu has four tickets to an amusement park. His sister asks for them, but he says no. But when he runs into Xia Xiaoman in the elevator, he gives one to her. She's suspicious. It feels too random. But she takes it anyway.
Of course, Yu Yu also goes to the park, green hat and all. Gu Yejia is there waiting for him. The three of them hang out. At one point, Gu Yejia is watching a show. Yu Yu, the king of social cues, spoils the entire ending for her. She is not pleased. Later, on a ride, an older couple asks if Yu Yu and Gu Yejia are married. To avoid a long explanation, Yu Yu just doesn't correct them. He comes back from the trip looking refreshed, but he can't quite put the experience into words.
