Episode Summary
Yu Yu awkwardly tries to invite Gu Yejia to see fireworks, but his arrogance gets in the way. Gu Yejia turns the tables by inviting all her friends to his apartment to watch. As Yu Yu's stress over work and his rival Ouyang intensifies, he begins acting stranger, following Gu Yejia and obsessively cleaning. His behavior makes her curious. The pressure finally causes him to collapse, and he wakes up to find his design work has been altered by his rival, which he sees as a deep professional betrayal.

The World's Most Awkward Invitation
Fireworks and Peacocks
The episode kicks off with Xia Xiaoman watching a video from Gu Yejia's trip. She can't believe her neighbor, Yu Yu, actually wore that green hat on vacation. He even looked proud of it on the tour bus.
Gu Yejia calls Xia Xiaoman to complain. She says her trip with Yu Yu was a total disaster. She calls him a peacock. He spent the whole time showing off and talking about himself. Xia Xiaoman just thinks the whole thing is hilarious. She tells Gu Yejia to invite her next time. Maybe she can help her friend out.
Meanwhile, Yu Yu gets a call from his mom. She tells him he needs to properly thank Gu Yejia. This is a problem. Yu Yu has been a socially inept guy for years. He has no idea how to thank a girl. He sees a couple being affectionate in a bar and it makes him think of Gu Yejia. He knows he has to do something, so he decides to just go for it.
The Balcony Takeover
An Awkward Interruption
Yu Yu finds Gu Yejia in a meeting with a foreign professor. He just knocks and walks right in. He wants to invite her to watch fireworks with him. But the words won't come out right.
Instead, he says it with all the grace of a charging bull. He basically tells her that if she insistson watching fireworks with him, he supposes it would be okay. It's not an invitation. It's a challenge.
An Outing Gone Wrong
Later, Gu Yejia, Wang Xiaoxiao, Shen Wu, and Xia Xiaoman are planning a spring outing. Xia Xiaoman has the perfect spot. She leads them to a cool abandoned building. Their plans get shut down fast. A security guard shows up. He tells them a company has bought the property and they have to leave. Now the group has nowhere to go.
The Balcony Heist
Gu Yejia has an idea. She finds Yu Yu chilling on his balcony. She brings up the fireworks again. He repeats his original, arrogant line. If she really wants to come, he'll allow it.
This time, Gu Yejia just smiles. She turns around and calls all her friends over. They are thrilled. They finally have a place to watch the fireworks. Yu Yu looks completely overwhelmed, but he reluctantly lets them all stay. He and Gu Yejia end up watching the fireworks together. For a moment, she looks genuinely happy.
A Strange Kind of Curiosity
Eavesdropping and Bad Judgments
Yu Yu's strange behavior continues. He shows up at the hospital to find Gu Yejia. He actually hides behind her door to eavesdrop on her. He comes to a brilliant conclusion. He decides she must be lazy. That's the only reason she wouldn't have time for housework.
Back at his own job, Lin Sa and Shen Wu team up to trick Yu Yu. They manipulate him into taking on a new project. Gu Yejia also catches Yu Yu following her and tells him he's being a creep. He's just everywhere.
The Clean Freak and the Blocked Door
Things get even weirder. Shen Wu tries to visit Yu Yu with his tools, but Yu Yu just kicks him out. At the same time, Xia Xiaoman is treating Gu Yejia to a delicious home-cooked meal.
When Yu Yu gets home, he can't focus on his work. He just starts obsessively cleaning his apartment. Gu Yejia hears about this from Xia Xiaoman. She thinks Yu Yu is bizarre. But the stranger he gets, the more curious she becomes.
Xia Xiaoman gets an idea. She gives Gu Yejia a makeover and has her bring a plate of food over to Yu Yu's apartment. Gu Yejia uses it as an excuse to ask for a tour of his place. Yu Yu is just as grumpy as ever. He takes the food but doesn't invite them inside.
The Meltdown
Work Nightmares
Yu Yu's stress is clearly getting to him. He has a nightmare that his rival, Ouyang, is about to take his job. He wakes up in a panic.
Gu Yejia is staying over with Xia Xiaoman. Yu Yu starts blasting music in the middle of the night, driving Gu Yejia crazy. The next morning, he goes to work and confronts Shen Wu and Lin Sa. He tells them he's disappointed in them. He says they betrayed him in his dream. He's losing it.
A Designer's Worst Insult
The pressure is just too much. Yu Yu is at the supermarket when he suddenly collapses.
He wakes up to hear Shen Wu and Lin Sa talking with Ouyang. He tries to play it cool. He says Ouyang can just add the finishing touches to his design. But then he sees the work. Ouyang didn't just finish it. He completely changed it. For a designer like Yu Yu, this is the ultimate insult. His vision was thrown out. Shen Wu doesn't understand why Yu Yu is so furious.
