Episode Summary
Cen Jin and Li Wu bond over a trip to his home village after she gets a new job. The story jumps to 2024, where Li Wu is a successful but sleep-deprived businessman. Cen Jin discovers his severe insomnia and tries to help, but Li Wu remains distant and dismissive during an awkward reunion dinner.

Cen Jin's Job Hunt and Mom Energy
Cen Jin is hanging out at a KTV with Chun Chang. She is taking it easy. Headhunters are calling her with offers, but she isn't ready to jump back into the grind yet. She wants to rest. Chun Chang suggests a concert. Cen Jin isn't feeling it. Her mind drifts elsewhere. She realizes Li Wu’s monthly exam results should be out. He hasn't told her anything. She texts his teacher immediately.
The Report Card Panic
Li Wu is back at his dorm. His three roommates are busy talking about girls. Li Wu ignores them. He gets a text from Cen Jin asking to meet. He sprints out of the school. Cen Jin asks if he is hiding anything. Li Wu panics. He thinks she knows about the incident with Wu Fu. He starts sweating.
She clarifies. She just wants to know about his grades. Li Wu breathes a massive sigh of relief. He pulls out his report card. His scores are excellent. He still thinks he didn't do well enough. Cen Jin tells him to relax and not pressure himself so much. She asks to keep the report card. He agrees.
New Kicks and an Apology
Cen Jin feels bad about her recent mood swings. She apologizes for potentially stressing him out. Li Wu doesn't care about that. He just wants her to stop treating him like a child. She drives him back to school and hands him a pair of shoes she exchanged earlier. He puts them on immediately back at the dorm. He is thrilled. Later, Cen Jin pastes his report card into her diary like a proud parent.
Road Trip to the Countryside
Cen Jin starts interviewing again. She lands a job easily thanks to her reputation. She starts after the National Day holiday. She shares the good news with her parents, Chun Chang, and Li Wu. Everyone is happy for her.
Then Li Wu gets a call. His aunt in Yunfeng Village hurt her back. Her husband is away working. The tea fields need harvesting. Li Wu tells Cen Jin he has to go back to help during the holiday. He plans to take the bus. Cen Jin isn't having that. She insists on driving him.
Tea Leaves and Photography
They arrive at the village. The aunt is already working in the fields despite her injury. Li Wu jumps straight in to help. Cen Jin tries to join them. She realizes tea picking is harder than it looks. She gives up and switches to photographer mode. She snaps pictures of the scenery. She catches a great shot of Li Wu wiping sweat from his forehead. The green terraces and the handsome kid make for a perfect picture.
Flash Forward: 2024
We jump ahead to 2024. Li Wu is at a restaurant talking business with Shen Yiyang. He spots Chun Chang nearby. She is in the middle of a mess. Two guys are yelling at her for two-timing them. She looks completely unbothered. The guys leave. Li Wu says hello and introduces Shen Yiyang. Chun Chang tries to shake hands but knocks over a wine glass. Red wine spills all over Shen. She apologizes. She tries to get his WeChat to pay for dry cleaning. He shuts her down and just shows a payment QR code.
The Cost of Success
Cen Jin goes to Li Wu’s office to pick up her ID card. His assistant, Cheng Rui, lets her wait inside. She spots a bottle of insomnia medication on the desk. Cheng Rui spills the details. Li Wu has suffered from severe insomnia since his study abroad days in the US. He worked himself into the ground to graduate early. He still doesn't take care of himself. Cheng Rui hopes Cen Jin can talk some sense into him.
The Awkward Dinner
Cen Jin goes back to her workplace, Sheng Can. She asks Boss Shen for advice on treating insomnia. He recommends a neurologist named Dr. Lu. Cen Jin then heads to Tong Chen. Li Wu just got back. They go for dinner. She gets her ID back. She formally apologizes for whatever happened between them years ago. Li Wu puts a wall up. He says he can take care of himself. He refuses to really accept the apology or her concern. A colleague calls for a video meeting. He leaves early.
