Episode Summary
In a flashback, Cen Jin deals with office politics while flirting with a young Li Wu. In the present, Li Wu reconnects with Cen Jin and manipulates a situation to rent the apartment directly across from hers. He also blocks Dr. Lu's advances during a hospital visit. Meanwhile, Chun Chang helps Shen Yiyang out of an awkward social situation and decides to pursue him. The episode ends with Li Wu and Cen Jin bonding over furniture shopping and their shared history with the movie Roman Holiday.

Back to the Grind in 2016
We start with a flashback to Cen Jin’s early days as a Creative Director. She reports to her new company and gets thrown straight into the fire. The General Manager hands her the publicity campaign for Ren's Food. She handled them last year, so it makes sense. Her assistant, Lu Tong, helps her settle in.
Not everyone is happy about this. Li Fei, the lead of Creative Team A, is salty. He has been handling the Ren's Food account and feels like Cen Jin just parachuted in to steal his credit. He sends over the files but makes sure to sound annoyed. Lu Tong tells Cen Jin to ignore him. She says Li Fei is arrogant and only respects power. Cen Jin isn't worried. She actually prefers people who are direct with their feelings.
Later that night, Li Wu texts her. He asks if she is used to the new environment. He starts mimicking her tone of voice. She screenshots it to call him out. Li Wu notices something else in the screenshot. She is using a photo of him in his school uniform as her lock screen. This makes his entire night.
The Reconnection in 2024
Cut to the present day. Li Wu is at the gym working out like a maniac. His phone buzzes with a friend request from Cen Jin. He accepts it immediately. She suggests they go see a neurologist together the next day. He agrees.
Meanwhile, Shen Yiyang walks past Chang Bar. He remembers Chun Chang mentioning it. He stops to buy flowers nearby. Chun Chang catches him. Some of his colleagues spot him and try to drag him into the bar for drinks. Shen Yiyang clearly hates this idea. Chun Chang steps in to save him. She pretends to be his girlfriend and shuts the colleagues down. They leave him alone.
Once the crowd disperses, Chun Chang asks to add him on WeChat again. This time, Shen Yiyang accepts. She invites him inside for a drink. He refuses because he has work in the morning. He leaves. His refusal just makes Chun Chang want to chase him more. She loves a challenge.
The Morning Scramble
Li Wu is officially obsessed. He spent the night sleeping in his car parked right downstairs from Cen Jin’s apartment. She calls him early in the morning. The hospital appointment got moved up. Li Wu panics. He lies and says he lent his car to Cheng Rui. Cen Jin offers to pick him up at his hotel.
Now he has a problem. He has to race back to his hotel, shower, and act like he slept there. He barely pulls it off. At the hospital, Dr. Lu is very helpful. He offers to take Li Wu for the MRI personally. Li Wu clocks the doctor's interest in Cen Jin immediately. He gets jealous. He grabs the paperwork and insists on doing it himself to keep Dr. Lu away. Afterward, he asks about her weekend. She says she is visiting her parents.
The Apartment Scheme
The weekend arrives. Li Wu shows up at Cen Jin’s parents' house before she even gets there. It is his first time seeing them since he went abroad. He tells them he is staying in Yi City for good. Her dad is thrilled. Her mom is more practical. She asks where he is living. He says he is in a hotel. Mom immediately tells Cen Jin to help him find an apartment.
Cen Jin takes him to see a few places. He hates all of them. The real estate agent suddenly "remembers" a new listing. It happens to be the unit directly across the hall from Cen Jin’s place. Li Wu pretends to hesitate. Cen Jin tells him to just take it if he likes it. He signs the lease. Later, we see him thanking the agent. The whole thing was a setup.
Furniture and Nostalgia
Li Wu moves in the very next day. Chun Chang is over at Cen Jin’s place having tea. They are talking about Li Wu’s intentions. He knocks on the door. He needs to buy furniture but claims his car is restricted that day. He wants to borrow Cen Jin’s car. Chun Chang tells Cen Jin to just drive him.
They go mattress shopping. Li Wu asks about the specific brand of mattress he slept on at her house years ago. He says it gave him the best sleep of his life. Cen Jin doesn't even remember it.
They pass a movie theater on the top floor. There is a poster for Roman Holiday. Li Wu reminds her that they watched it together when she helped him learn English. She says things have changed since then. He disagrees. He says his core intentions are the same. He tells her she gave him everything, including the chance to see the world. Cen Jin feels relieved that he understands her past actions. That night, they both watch Roman Holiday separately in their own apartments.
