The Cafeteria Conspiracy

Things start off with a bit of harmless rigging. Lin Yusen and Nie Xiguang draw lots to see who gets to be a food taster for the cafeteria. Xiguang opens her paper. It’s blank. She lost. But Yusen doesn't even check his own. He just announces that she won.

Yin Jie sees the blank paper. She corners them immediately. She wants to know what the secret is. Xiguang plays it cool. She claims it’s just a boss being nice to an employee.

The tasting event happens later. Yusen is hungry, so he joins Xiguang at her table. They have different tastes. She likes sweet stuff. He prefers old-school stir-fry. They have to share one voting ballot. Xiguang hands it over to him. He ignores his own preference and writes down what she likes.

The vote doesn't go their way, though. Her pick loses. Yusen has a backup plan. He looked up that vendor’s other restaurants. He offers to take her there personally. Xiguang worries about the bidding process for the garden project. Yusen shuts that down. He reminds her she’s the boss. She can decide whatever she wants.

A Business Trip for Two

The cafeteria food gets better, but Xiguang keeps eating out at night. Yin Jie notices the pattern. Work picks up for the annual meeting. A supervisor tries to dump meeting minutes on Cui Qin. Cui Qin is swamped. Xiguang steps up and volunteers.

The meeting focuses on glass suppliers. Xiguang already did the heavy lifting on the price list. The purchasing department narrows down the options. Yusen decides to visit the factories himself. His assistant is tied up with the annual meeting. Naturally, he tells Xiguang to pack her bags. She is going with him.

Yin Jie loses patience. She sees them prepping for the trip and demands the truth. Xiguang does some soul-searching. She realizes she used to be brave in love. Being timid doesn't suit her. She admits it to Yin Jie. Lin Yusen is pursuing her.

Taking Flight

Sleep is impossible that night. Xiguang texts Yusen to cheer him on. He calls back instantly. He confirms that she accepted his pursuit. It feels like a win until the next morning. They get to the airport. Xiguang remembers she is terrified of flying. Love made her forget her phobia.

They land in Guangzhou. They visit the glass supplier, Shuangyuan's old partner. Mr. Wu runs the place. He met Yusen three years ago. The reunion is friendly, but Wu is still angry at Mr. Mo. Mo stopped their cooperation and spread trash talk about their glass quality. Xiguang chimes in. She says Mo isn't popular at their company either. Yusen assures Wu that he replaced the purchasing head.

New Phones and Old Warnings

The inspection ends. They check into the hotel. Xiguang wants to hit the spa with Director Chen. Yusen has other ideas. He gives his ticket to Wang Xin. This frees him up to ask Xiguang to go shopping.

Xiguang needs WeChat. Her phone is out of storage. They buy a new phone together. She tells the clerk to only transfer contacts. She leaves the rest on the old device. She installs the app. Yusen adds her immediately.

Back at the hotel, Xiguang brings yogurt to Director Chen. She mentions her outing with Yusen. Chen isn't blind. She sees what is happening. She offers a warning about office romances. She tells a story about her last job. She was a VP at a bigger company. People spread rumors that she slept her way to the top. Her boss didn't care. She felt cold and quit.

Xiguang appreciates the advice. She decides to let things happen naturally anyway. She also mentions she doesn't want that kind of gossip at Shuangyuan. Director Chen notices something interesting. Xiguang sounds less like an employee and more like an owner.
