Episode Summary
Kevin crashes while skiing, and Lin Yusen assists with the emergency surgery at a local hospital. Nie Xiguang mistakenly believes Lin is the one injured and rushes to the hospital in a panic. Upon finding him safe, she becomes furious that he informed her mother about the accident but failed to contact her, leading to a heated argument and a cold exit.

Ski Slope Chaos
Things start off with a bit of gossip on the slopes. Zhuang Xu is listening to Kevin talk about Lin Yusen pursuing Nie Xiguang. Kevin tries to dig for more info, but he’s already sliding away. He’s enjoying the speed a little too much. His skills aren't great. A guy doing tricks crashes right into him. Kevin gets knocked out cold.
Lin Yusen happens to be right there. He jumps into action and does some basic first aid. Kevin wakes up, and the rescue team arrives. The doctor on the ambulance is an orthopedist. Lin Yusen doesn't feel comfortable with that. He decides to hop on the ambulance himself to keep an eye on things.
Communication Breakdown
On the way to the hospital, Lin Yusen tries to call Nie Xiguang. Her phone is off. He calls Sheng Weiai instead. She’s just about to hit the hot springs. She thinks about texting Nie Xiguang but decides against it.
At the hospital, Lin Yusen hands the patient over. Zhuang Xu shows up right behind them. Director Liao recognizes Lin Yusen. He knows him from his time at Shanghai Songshan Hospital. He praises Lin for the quick thinking on the slopes.
The local hospital has limited facilities. They want to transfer Kevin to the city hospital. But there’s a problem. A massive pile-up happened that afternoon. The city neurosurgery department is packed. The CT scan shows heavy bleeding. A transfer would take too long. Director Liao has to operate right there. He’s nervous about his experience level. He asks Lin Yusen to scrub in and guide him.
The Surgeon's Shadow
Lin Yusen shows his medical license to get the paperwork moving. Zhuang Xu signs the consent forms for the family. Chris and the rest of the gang arrive to wait.
Lin Yusen stands in the prep room watching the surgery. It hits him hard. He remembers standing at the operating table himself. He feels that familiar sense of loss.
Meanwhile, Nie Xiguang is taking a break. Her phone died from the cold. She goes to a convenience store to charge it and buy souvenirs. Jiang Rui meets her there. They wait for Lin Yusen together.
Panic Mode
Nie Xiguang turns her phone back on. She calls Lin Yusen, but it doesn't go through. She gets a bad feeling. Lin is usually reliable. She hears people talking about a bad accident on the advanced slope. She rushes to the infirmary.
The nurse didn't see the victim's face. She just points to the snowboard they left behind. It’s Lin Yusen’s custom board. Nie Xiguang panics. She grabs Jiang Rui and races to the county hospital.
Relief Turns to Anger
The surgery goes well. Lin Yusen and Director Liao walk out. Nie Xiguang runs straight to Lin. She asks what happened. Liao explains that Lin Yusen saved the day with his guidance. Nie Xiguang finally breathes. He’s okay.
Lin goes to change his clothes. Jiang Yun calls Nie Xiguang. She says she heard from Sheng Weiai that Lin went to the hospital hours ago. Nie Xiguang realizes something. Her mom knew before she did. She doesn't get why Lin didn't tell her. The relief turns into anger. She storms outside.
The Cold Shoulder
Lin Yusen comes out ready to take everyone to dinner. Nie Xiguang isn't having it. She asks him point-blank why he didn't tell her. He had time to call her mom but not text her? She was terrified. She hops into a taxi without him. Jiang Rui is shocked by how harsh she is but follows her into the cab.
Lin Yusen heads back to the ski resort alone. He keeps calling Nie Xiguang. She ignores every call. Back at the room, Jiang Rui makes instant noodles. She tells Nie Xiguang that she was surprisingly tough on Lin Yusen.
