Episode Summary
Nie Chengyuan feels isolated in the hospital while Lin Yusen stays at the Nie home to support Xiguang. Yusen opens up about his past family trauma to comfort her. After a successful surgery and a one-month time jump, Xiguang helps Shen Shu win a major business bid against the Sheng family. The victory impresses her father, who finally decides to cut off financial support to his mistress.

The Lonely Patient
Nie Chengyuan lies in his hospital bed alone. He thinks back to twenty years ago. He was hospitalized then too. Back then, Jiang Yun handled the business chaos. Little Nie Xiguang sat by his bed. It was a different time. Now, neither of them wants to deal with him. The silence in the room is loud. He feels the sting of abandonment.
House Guest
Lin Yusen is exhausted. He has been running around for days. Jiang Yun tells him to crash at their house. Nie Xiguang helps make the bed in the guest room. Yusen mentions he should be at the hospital. He thinks he should support Xiguang there. He knows her dad won't make a scene in public.
Xiguang feels terrible. She hates that her dad is so ungrateful. Yusen puts in all this work. Her dad just throws insults. Yusen brushes it off. He says it doesn't matter. He only cares if Xiguang is unhappy. He has the surgery plan ready. He is just waiting for Dr. Schneider to arrive in Wuxi.

Nie Chengyuan sends a text. He apologizes. Xiguang reads it but can't forgive him yet. She still hurts for him though. Yusen takes her downstairs for a walk. He gets personal. He talks about his own father. His dad died right before his college entrance exams. His grandfather faced surgery days later. He understands the pressure. He vowed back then to never let his loved ones suffer.
The Big Surgery
The next day, they head to Suzhou. Grandma calls. She apologizes for her son's behavior. She asks Yusen to help with the German doctor. Yusen promises he will do his best. He does it for Xiguang. He also does it for his own medical ethics.
We jump forward a month. The surgery is done. It went well. Nie Chengyuan is in rehab. Xiguang visits him. She talks about the Chengrui bid. Her dad is skeptical. He tells her she has zero chance of winning. He says the other companies are too strong. He tells her to be objective.
Real Estate and Rivalries
The bidding war begins. Xiguang and Yusen drop Shen Shu at the venue. They run into Sheng Xingjie’s team. Xingjie is quiet this time. He knows he can't out-talk Xiguang.
Yusen has other plans while they wait. He takes Xiguang to the suburbs. He shows her a property. He plans to work with Professor Xi soon. Xiguang will stay at Guangyu. This house is right in the middle. He is planning their future.
The Winner Takes It All
They return to the bidding center. Sheng Xingjie storms out first. He looks furious. He yells at Yusen. He accuses him of helping outsiders hurt the group. Shen Shu comes out next. She is glowing. They won. The green energy concept was the deciding factor. It was a narrow victory.
Cutting Ties
Sheng Bokai runs to snitch to Sheng Xianmin. The old man already knows the result. He is annoyed by Bokai’s pettiness. He thinks Xingjie lacks business sense. He says the kid should just be a rich idler. Uncle Li distracts Bokai to stop the whining.
Nie Chengyuan hears the news. His company didn't win either. But he hears Xiguang beat Sheng Xingjie. He feels proud. It gives him face. He tells his assistant to smooth things over with Bokai. Then Qian Fangping calls about property fees. Nie Chengyuan is done. He refuses to pay. He tells his assistant to sell that villa immediately.
