She thinks her career is over before it even started. First impressions matter, and hers was terrible.

A Major Accounting Screw-Up

Things get worse fast. A massive financial error pops up from before the holiday. A transfer went out in US Dollars instead of RMB. That is a huge difference in value. The Purchasing Department is scrambling to blame someone. They point fingers at Finance.

It turns out Ou Qiqi used Xiguang’s computer to make the transfer. Xiguang had already left for the day. But Xiguang’s seal is on the paperwork. She is technically responsible. She gets back to the office and walks into a war zone. Purchasing and Finance are screaming at each other. Purchasing just wants to dodge the blame.

Lin Yusen Cleans House

Lin Yusen is touring the factory floor with the Old Factory Director. They talk strategy. Lin explains why he voted against expansion years ago but supports it now. He sees the potential in solar energy. But he gets interrupted by the chaos in the office.

He handles the crisis calmly. He calls the partner company personally. They agree to return the overpayment. Crisis averted. But now heads have to roll.

Mr. Mo from Purchasing tries to bully Xiguang. She snaps back. She tells him to his face that his department shares the blame. Mo looks like a fool. But Lin Yusen sees Xiguang’s signature on the bad check. He makes a quick decision. He thinks she is bad for Finance. He transfers her to the Administration Department immediately.

The Archive Detective

Xiguang moves to her new desk. She ends up in the archives. It sounds boring, but she actually likes organizing things. Her OCD kicks in and she cleans the place up.

Lin Yusen starts spending a lot of time in the archives too. He is digging through old contracts. He finds loopholes. Xiguang watches him work. She realizes he isn't just browsing. He is building a case to purge the Purchasing Department. She decides to help him out.

She pulls all the old purchase records for him. She brags about her memory. Lin Yusen decides to test that confidence. He gives her a brutal assignment. She has to compile every single raw material price and sale since 2005. It feels like busy work. She thinks he is punishing her.

The Doctor Is In

Xiguang grinds through the data. She complains to her roommates but finishes the job. She hands it in and tries to pull a fast one. She asks for three days off. She claims she feels sick.

Lin Yusen shuts her down instantly. He reveals a fun fact about his past. He used to be a doctor. He looks her over and says she is perfectly healthy. Her plan backfires completely. She goes back to her desk feeling targeted.

Roommate Wars

The day ends on a sour note. Xiguang and her friends see a new employee moving into the dorm next door. It’s a relative of Mr. Mo. This new girl steals the double room that was supposed to go to them. It is blatant nepotism.

The girls are furious. Yin Jie wants to file a complaint. Xiguang wants to tell Lin Yusen directly. Wan Yuhua plays peacemaker. She thinks it is too petty to bring to the boss. They decide to swallow their anger for now.
