Episode Summary
Gao Fei swallows crucial evidence to protect it from Wu Guohao, while Wu Feifei learns of her father's past crimes via a phone call. Flashbacks reveal how Qu Meng and Li Hongyue hid a pregnancy in the 90s. In the present, Wu Guohao tries to use Long Yu's parents to threaten Gao Fei, but Gao Fei produces guardianship papers to stop them. The episode ends with Wu Feifei serving her father a mysterious, non-edible item for dinner.

A Hard Pill to Swallow
Wu Guohao tries to play the benevolent elder. He sits Gao Fei down and claims total ignorance about how Qu Meng gave birth to him. His advice is simple. Forget the past. Live a good life. He does admit one ugly truth, though. He confesses to putting Li Hongyue under house arrest years ago. According to him, she left a suicide note and vanished. He assumed she died.
Dongzi watches this conversation from outside via CCTV. Gao Fei prepared for this meeting. But Wu Guohao isn't an amateur either. He has Chen Kang controlling the room. Gao Fei realizes he is cornered. He does something desperate. He swallows the "golden ball" right in front of Wu Guohao's face. He literally eats the evidence.
The Daughter Card
Wu Guohao gives Gao Fei a deadline. Hand over the item by 10 PM tomorrow. Gao Fei just laughs. He reveals he has been on a call with Wu Feifei the entire time. She heard every word of her father's confession. She steps out of the shadows immediately.
This breaks Wu Feifei. She drives straight to Li Hongyue’s grave in the pouring rain. Wu Guohao follows her. They have a standoff in the mud. Wu Guohao knows exactly how to manipulate her. He starts slapping himself in the face. It works. Feifei softens up. They go home together.
Gao Fei rescues Dongzi, who was tied up and blindfolded. Later, Gao Fei goes to Penglai Square. He forces himself to vomit up the golden ball.
Flashbacks to the Nineties
We jump back to the early 90s. Qu Meng returns to the International Club stage. She is pregnant, but Li Hongyue helps her hide it. No one notices.
Wu Guohao plans a trip to Shenzhen for a real estate project. Li Hongyue encourages him to go. She wants him out of the way. She tells Xu Peng she is going away to give birth and taking Qu Meng for help. The men don't suspect a thing. The two women rent a loft using He Xiaohong's name. It's the same place Yang Wenyuan once lived with Qu Meng. Before leaving, Wu assigns Zhang Biao to drive for Li Hongyue.
Police Visits and Hospital Games
In the present, the police visit He Xiaohong. They show her a sketch of Li Hongyue. She loses it. She becomes hysterical. She warns them to stay away from the International Club.
Wu Guohao is stuck. He has to negotiate with Gao Fei again because of Feifei. He tries money. Gao Fei refuses. He tells Wu to explain himself to his daughter instead.
Wu Guohao gets nasty. He shows Gao Fei a video of Long Yu lying in a hospital bed. He threatens the unconscious man. Gao Fei rushes to the hospital. He finds Long Yu’s parents there. They start talking, but they sound exactly like Wu Guohao. Gao Fei realizes Wu bought them off to seize custody of Long Yu. Gao Fei is smarter than that. He exposes their greed. He produces a legal agreement proving he and Long Yu are each other's guardians.
The Cold Dinner
While the men fight, Wu Feifei does her own detective work. She sneaks onto a boat. Then she breaks into the villa's attic. She rummages through everything.
Wu Guohao comes home. Feifei tells him to eat. He sits down at the table. He puts his hand on a large soup tureen. It feels cold. He pauses. He lifts the lid. It isn't soup inside. It is a very specific "gift" from his daughter.
