Episode Summary
Wang Fei and Jin Tong resolve their awkwardness, while Wang Chunsheng buys a motorcycle for Li Jing. Tong Qiu struggles with unemployment and guilt over her grandparents. Li Lianbao discovers Kevin manipulated his daughter and stole millions from him by forcing him out of Beehive Tech before its IPO. Ma Weiguo asks Jin Tong to document his final days, leaving her heartbroken.

The Coward and the Cool Girl
Ma Weiguo is tired of watching Wang Fei mope around. He basically forces Wang Fei to go talk to Jin Tong. The goal is simple. Clear the air. Don't let things get weird forever. Wang Fei is a nervous wreck, though. He needs constant prodding just to walk down the hall.
He gets to her door and freezes. He actually considers running away. But luck is on his side. Jin Tong walks out right at that moment. She sees him panic but plays it cool. She says hello first. She acts completely normal about the love letter situation. No drama. No awkwardness. They talk it out and things go back to the way they were.
Right after that, Ma Weiguo and Jin Tong head out. They bump into Wang Chunsheng. He bought a brand new motorcycle. He plans to take Li Jing out for a spin to get some fresh air. It’s a nice moment for them. Meanwhile, Ma Weiguo has secured a spot for the art exhibition. He takes Jin Tong to check it out. He makes a specific point to hang a very special painting on the wall. It’s the one from the first time they met.
Reality Checks and Rejections
Tong Qiu is having a rough time. She is hunting for a job, but her reputation is tanked. A new bank finds out she was fired and rejects her immediately. The other places she applied to also turn her down. She is hitting a wall.
She feels even worse when she scrolls through her phone. She sees photos of Wang Chunsheng and Li Jing having a blast on that motorcycle. It stings. The constant rejection forces her to think. She starts remembering her time with Zhang Xiaoshi and Ma Weiguo. She finally starts reflecting on her past behavior.
Back at home, things are heavy. Grandpa Tong is writing scripts day and night. He is exhausting himself to help out. Grandma Tong is worried sick about his health. Tong Qiu comes home and overhears them talking. Ideally, this should be a wake-up call. She feels incredibly guilty listening to them struggle because of her.
The 100 Million Dollar Betrayal
Li Lianbao is moments away from signing the agreement to let his daughter, Yuanyuan, emigrate. Then the phone rings. It’s Dong Qian. She tells him to stop.
She meets up with Li Lianbao and drops a bomb. Yuanyuan does not want to go abroad. She only agreed because Hu Nana manipulated her. Hu Nana told the kid that Kevin is Li Lianbao’s investor. She claimed that if Yuanyuan didn't leave, her dad’s business would fail. The kid was just trying to save her father.
Li Lianbao loses it. He storms over to confront his ex-wife, Hu Nana. He tears the agreement into pieces right in front of her. But then he spots something weird. A drunk executive, Mr. Gao, is at Hu Nana’s house. Li Lianbao asks some questions and connects the dots. Beehive Tech is about to go public. The shares Li Lianbao gave up are now worth a hundred million. Kevin played him. Kevin set this whole thing up to steal his fortune.
Preparing for the End
Ma Weiguo asks Old Zhang to dig into Kevin’s business. The intel confirms everything. Kevin kicked Li Lianbao out of Beehive Tech on purpose.
The next day, Ma Weiguo is back at the gallery. He is helping Jin Tong with the renovations. They are having a good time working together. Later that night, Jin Tong sends him some photos she took of him working. Ma Weiguo calls her up. He sees she is still awake. He asks her a favor. He wants her to document the time he has left. It is a brutal request. Jin Tong keeps her voice steady on the phone. She agrees. But the second she hangs up, she breaks down crying.
Li Lianbao is done playing nice. He sees Kevin for the snake he is. He wants to buy back the shares of Penglexuan. Kevin is arrogant. He insults the brothers and demands a ridiculous price. Li Lianbao tells Ma Weiguo and Wang Chunsheng that he wants Kevin out immediately. Ma Weiguo thinks it is too early to declare war. Li Lianbao disagrees. He is ready to fight now.
