Plot Synopsis

The Litchi Road: A Race Against Time in the Tang Dynasty

Set in the 14th year of the Tianbao era of the great Tang Dynasty,The Litchi Roadfollows theperilous journey of Li Shande (Lei Jiayin), a low-ranking official in the capital. After being deceived by his colleagues, Li Shande is unexpectedly appointed the "Litchi Envoy." He is tasked with a seemingly impossible mission: transport fresh litchis from the southeregion of Lingnan to Chang'an—a journey of over five thousand li—in time for the Noble Consort's birthday. With the delicate fruit known to spoil in just three days, this is a race against time that could cost him everything.

Driven by the need toprotect his family, Li Shande accepts the deadly assignment.His quest takes him to Lingnan, where he must race to developpreservation techniques and mapout the fastestpossible route.
