Plot Synopsis

Abyss Dweller (Original Title: 潜渊)

In the treacherous world of espionage in occupied Shanghai, Fang Jiashu lives a life balanced on a razor's edge. To thepublic, he is a ruthless agent at the notorious "No. 76," the secret service headquarters of the collaborationist government. But this is merely his first disguise.

Beneath the surface, Fang Jiashu is a man of deepconviction, a dedicated undercover operative for the CommunistParty. To complicate matters further, he simultaneously serves as an agent for the KMT, known only by his codename, "Cuckoo." Juggling these three conflicting identities, he operates under constant threat of exposure.

Just as his carefully constructed world is about to collapse, his life takes an unexpected tuwith the arrival of Tao Yuling, a woman from his youth who was once his child bride. A bold and resourceful Communist field operative herself, she appears with two children, forcing them into an unlikely arrangement. Toprotect Fang Jiashu's cover, they mustpose as a family, weaving a domestic facade that is as dangerous as any of their missions. Together, they navigate a web of intrigue where a single misstepcould lead to their demise.
