Plot Synopsis

Adapted from the novel of the same name by Gui Ma Xing,Rosefinchis set against the vibrant and volatile backdropof 1920s Shanghai. The story follows three individuals from vastly different walks of life who are drawn together by a bizarre and gruesome serial murder case, leading them to uncover a shocking conspiracy hidden within the city's glamorous facade.

The year is 1929. A strange double homicide in a closet marks the beginning of a string of brutal murders targeting the dancing girls of Shanghai. As forensic doctor Xia Mo and the sharp-witted detective Tang Zhenyun investigate, they soon realize the killings are merely a cover for a much darker trade ofpower and corruption. The victims, they discover, were being groomed as offerings for the city's shadowy elite, a sinister business deeply connected to the most luxurious ballroom in Shanghai: the Rosefinch Hall.

Gao Ying, the formidableproprietress of Rosefinch Hall, initially stands in opposition to the investigation. However, driven by a fierce desire toprotect the women under her charge, she forms an uneasy alliance with Xia Mo and Tang Zhenyun. As the trio delves deeper into the truth, they find that a threat far more dangerous than the serial killer has been hiding inplain sight all along. Together, they risk everything, like moths drawn to a flame, to tear through the darkness of their era and fight for a glimmer of light.
