Plot Synopsis

The story is set in a small riverside town that's about to be completely submerged by a new damproject. Everyone is frantically moving and rebuilding. Right in the middle of this chaos, a murder happens.

A woman,played by Wang Ziwen, insists her husband murdered their daughter.A man,played by Luo Jin, works at a massageparlor and his background is murky.And then there's a female cop,played by Yu Nan, who has been obsessed with this case for years.These threepeople, who should have nothing to do with each other, find their lives tangled together because of this crime.

The deeper thepolice dig, the weirder things get. It turns out both "suspects" are hiding a mountain of secrets from thepast.It looks like a story of revenge, but it also feels like they're trying to save each other.The whole thing is set against the backdropof a disappearing city and constant, heavy rain, which really sets the mood.

The appeal is straightforward.

First, the cast. Luo Jin, Wang Ziwen, and Yu Nan acting together is a guarantee of quality.Luo Jin, inparticular, has completely changed his look for this role. He has long, curly hair and a scruffy beard,playing a down-and-out character totally different from his usualpolished image.

Second, the story itself. A drowning old town, a cold case, and a buriedpast.That kind of setupis just dripping with atmosphere. A mother who lost her only child and a massage therapist with a shady identity—it sounds dramatic and compelling.The show is adapted from a novel called "Blind" (盲目), so the source material should be solid.

Toput it bluntly, this drama digs into the messy, complicatedparts of human nature. The truth will come out eventually, but the journey there is going to be a rough one.
