"The Wonderful World" Episode 27: A Kiss, a Confrontation, and a New Beginning

Xu Tian's pursuit of Shi Diandian intensifies as he helps her with groceries and even offers to cook. Seeing her constantly searching for jobs online, he bakes her a pizza and brings up the idea of a food processor—an appliance she once wanted but found too expensive. She still hesitates at the cost. Later, Xu Tian makes a bold suggestion: since her spare bedroom is empty, he should move in to split the rent, offering to cover all the utilities himself. Feeling the proposal is too sudden, Shi Diandian is at a loss for words. Sensing her discomfort, Xu Tian backs down, suggesting they simply text each other goodnight instead.

However, Shi Diandian's feelings for Xu Tian are clearly growing. She goes downstairs to see if he has left, and they end up sitting together on a bench. She asks if he still has feelings for his ex-girlfriend, but Xu Tian confesses he only has eyes for the person in front of him. Touched by his directness, Shi Diandian wraps her scarf around his neck. Overjoyed, Xu Tian rushes to share the news with Wen Xiaoyao, but she isn't home.

Meanwhile, Wen Xiaoyao visits Song Guanwang's home. Song Guanwang invites her to go square dancing, but when she declines, she is encouraged to wait in the late Zhou Tong's room. Surrounded by his photos and seeing his playful face on the computer screensaver, Wen Xiaoyao is filled with a sense of longing and warmth. Her quiet moment is interrupted by Qiao Guanghui, who asks her to arrange a secret meeting between him and his daughter Qiao Mi's boyfriend, Xiao Erduo.

At the public square, Qiao Guanghui confides in Song Guanwang. Song Guanwang admits she fell for him on the day of Zhou Tong's accident, explaining that his harsh but grounding words saved her from despair. She also suggests they help Zhao Gang move on from his past at the ballet troupe by introducing him to square dancing. Qiao Guanghui then seeks her advice on how to handle Qiao Mi's relationship with Xiao Erduo, a wandering singer for whom she is willing to give up her inheritance.

The meeting Wen Xiaoyao arranged takes place at a KTV. Qiao Guanghui brings two friends to intimidate Xiao Erduo, who introduces himself by his real name, Lian Cuihua. When questioned, Lian Cuihua is brutally honest: he cannot provide Qiao Mi with a life of material comfort and acknowledges that love can fade. Enraged by this, Qiao Guanghui has him beaten up. Later, he calls Qiao Mi to inform her that Lian Cuihua is at the police station. Qiao Mi and Wen Xiaoyao rush over. Qiao Mi leaves with Lian Cuihua, completely ignoring her father. Wen Xiaoyao stays behind to comfort the distraught Qiao Guanghui, promising she is like his own daughter and would never marry without his blessing.

That night, Shi Diandian's apartment suddenly loses power while she's in the shower. A knock on the door frightens her, and she immediately calls Xu Tian. Seizing the opportunity, Xu Tian packs his suitcase and heads over, determined to move in. He runs into Wen Xiaoyao in the complex and asks her to watch his luggage, just in case Shi Diandian rejects him again. He gives Wen Xiaoyao a qipao and a photograph he brought back from Hangzhou.

Upstairs, the "intruder" turns out to be the property manager returning the utility card Shi Diandian had accidentally left at the office. With the power back on but the hot water still out, Xu Tian uses the new food processor he brought to heat water for her to finish washing her hair. He asks once more if he can move in. Completely won over, Shi Diandian kisses him, finally agreeing. Downstairs, Xu Tian happily tells Wen Xiaoyao the good news. He then encourages her to continue dancing "Legend of the White Snake," not just for herself, but for her mother, Jia Sulan, who had to give up her own ballet career when she became pregnant. He adds that Zhou Tong would have wanted to see her dance happily.
