Plot Synopsis

Tencent is dropping another costume drama, this one's called 'Yummy Yummy Yummy'.

The story is about a modegirl, Shen Shaoguang. She and her whole family accidentally travel back to the ancient city of Yong'an. To make a living, the family gets back to their old trade and opens a small restaurant.

Here, the female lead runs into the male lead, an official named Lin Yan,played by Li Yunrui. To solve a tricky situation, she has topretend to be his fiancée and ends upmoving into his house.

Theplot revolves around cooking, making money, and romance, all mixed with the daily life of an ancient city.

The leads are Wang Yinglu and Li Yunrui. Wang Yingluplayed Bao'er in 'I Am Nobody', and Li Yunrui is a familiar face from 'Love Like the Galaxy'. The supporting cast includes veterans like Liu Jun and Ni Hongjie holding things down, so the actor lineuplooks decent.

The show is adapted from the novel 'Changan Small Restaurant', so it already has a bit of a fanbase. Based on thepromotional materials, the tone seems light and fun, like a good show to watch while eating.

A whole family time-travels, starts a restaurant business, and the daughter dates a young official. The setupisn't new, so it all comes down to whether the writers can tell this story in a fresh way.
