"The Wonderful World" Episode 9: New Romances and Old Wounds

In this episode, relationships take center stage, with new couples forming and past traumas coming to light.

Xu Tian and Shi Diandian make their relationship official during a date at Leshui Pavilion.

Meanwhile, a new romance blossoms between Wen Xiaoyao and Zhou Tong. After a playful "debrief" of their fake dating arrangement, where Zhou Tong's joke about ending things almost backfires, the two become a genuine couple. Their happiness, however, causes friction with their best friend, Qiao Mi. Feeling abandoned now that Wen Xiaoyao is in a relationship, and already resentful that Zhou Tong's mother, Song Guanwang, has captured her father's (Qiao Guanghui) attention, Qiao Mi is deeply upset.

The episode takes a dramatic turn with a revelation about Shi Diandian's past. Her father, Lao Shi, pays Xu Tian a visit and explains the deep trauma his daughter carries. When Diandian was nine, her mother passed away. She fixated on a bouquet of flowers in her mother's room, watching them until they completely wilted.
