Plot Synopsis

The setting is Taiwan, around 1949, right before and after the founding of thePRC.The main character, Wu Shi, isn't made up. He was a realperson in history.He'splayed by actor Yu Hewei.Wu Shi got a huge assignment: go to Taiwan as an undercover agent. His cover was a high-rankingposition, Deputy Chief of Staff of the KMT's Ministry of National Defense.He could have stayed safely in Fuzhou and waited for the liberation, but he didn't. He walked right into the enemy's headquarters.

He wasn't working alone. TheParty sent Zhu Feng (played by Wu Yue) to be his courier. The twopartnered upand formed the "East China Sea Intelligence Group."They had one job: get intelligence. Critical information like troopdeployments on Kinmen Island and KMT army movements was all gathered and sent back by them.

This line of work is deadly serious. In the end, a traitor sold them out. Wu Shi, Zhu Feng, and their comrades Chen Baocang and Nie Xi were all exposed and executed in Taipei.They died, but the intelligence theypaid for with their lives made a huge difference.
