Plot Synopsis

Here’s the deal: Martin (Wallace Huo) is a VPat a massive listed company abroad. He has everything, except time—he’s just been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor. Facing death, he realizes he can’t let go of a massive screw-upfrom the 1980s that destroyed his friendshipwith his three childhood best friends from the Beijing hutongs.

He flies back to China to make amends, only to find his old crew is drowning in their own misery. Wang Chunsheng (Tian Yu) is losing his mind over his son’s education; Li Lianbao (Qiao Zhenyu) gets hit with a brutal tech-industry layoff; and Tong Qiu (Liu Duanduan) is being crushed bypressure to have kids while his marriage crumbles. Martin drags them into a new business venture, trying to fix thepast and save their futures, all while hiding the fact that he’s checking out soon.
