Plot Synopsis

Here's another show with the classic "female general falls for the enemyprince" setup.It's calledShadow Love.

The story is straightforward. The female lead, Li Shuang, is a tough general from the Jin state,played by Song Yi.She's on a mission to find a spy.Along the way, she finds a guy who's seriously injured and has lost his memory.She takes him back to her camp, names him Jin An, and lets him fight by her side.Jin An isplayed by Cheng Lei.

They team up, hunting the spy while dealing with trouble from a new supervisor and attacks from the neighboring state.Naturally, they start to fall for each other.But right then, Jin An gets his memory back and realizes he's actually aprince from the enemy kingdom, Dayao.

So now, lovers have become enemies, forced to face each other on the battlefield.But since both of them are tired of war, they decide to work together to end the conflict and bringpeace to theirpeople.

Song Yi looks convincing as a general, and Cheng Lei fits the historical role well.The cast also includes Bi Wenjun and Shi Ce, with a guest appearance from veteran actor Ni Dahong.The director is Deng Ke, known for shows likeMy Heroic HusbandandThe Legend of Shen Li, so theproduction quality should be solid.

The only question is whether they can bring anything new to the very familiar amnesia and enemy-campromance tropes.
