Plot Synopsis

This show is about a "demon" cult leader who gets a second chance at life and decides to chase the good guy.

The female lead, Wang Yue, used to be a big deal in the martial arts world, a real "villainess."After dying and coming back, she gets a new identity as somepoor orphan girl. She's got one mission: finally get together with the super-righteous elder, Yang Qing, something she failed at before.

She cooks upschemes to get close to him. After a bunch of things happen, they start falling for each other. Eventually, they expose the real mastermindpulling the strings and even get the "good" and "evil" sects to stopfighting.

The main draw here is the flipped character roles. The heroine isn't some naive, innocent girl. She's a "demoness" with apast and she knows how to get things done. The wholepremise of her hiding her fangs to chase the guy is what creates the drama. The male lead is your typical, straight-laced, by-the-book kind of hero. Her constant advances completely wreck his black-and-white view of the world.

This "melting the iceberg" dynamic is whatpulls you in. Its success really hinges on the actors. If the two leads (played by Mao Zijun and Zhou Jieqiong) don't have enough chemistry, the whole "forbidden love" angle falls flat.The show also moves fast. It jumps right into the mainplot from the get-go, no time wasted.
