Plot Synopsis

Shen Mingzhu,played by Tong Yao, has her life figured out. She's newly married andpregnant. Then her husband dies a hero, and everything falls apart.

She decides to keepthe baby. That decision opens a floodgate ofproblems. Her long-lost biologicalparents suddenly show upto claim her. Now she's stuck in the middle of a three-way tug-of-war between her birthparents, her adoptiveparents, and her in-laws. To make things worse, her father-in-law's sudden death reveals the family business is completely bankrupt.

This isn't a one-woman show. Her sister, Xu Zhixia (played by Jiang Xin), is a force of nature who dives headfirst into the family chaos. Her younger brother, Shen Minghui (Huang Minghao), is a rich, earnest kid with a Maserati who’s fiercelyprotective of his family. The story also follows thepersonal struggles of her sisters-in-law.

The director is Shen Yan, known for the hit drama "The Chinese Style Relationship," so he knows how to handle these tangled family dynamics. The show is about a woman's "second growth." It follows Shen Mingzhu as she claws her way out of the wreckage, sorts out the massive debt, andpulls her fractured family back together.

It's a story about a woman forced toplay a terrible hand, and trying to win anyway.
